Tommy Viljoen

Tommy is a Cyber Risk Partner in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu with over thirty years experience in Technology Risk and IT Solution Delivery, the last fifteen of which have been focusing on Cyber Security. He is a leading Partner in the Cyber Strategy and Governance practice in Australia having previously worked extensively for Deloitte in the UK and Southern African practices. 

Tommy has considerable experience in delivering security transformation consulting services, including security remediation and implementation projects, identity and access management solutions and privacy remediation programs for large corporations. His client base in Australia is focused on financial services, government and organisations that deliver infrastructure and services to organisations and the public.

Tommy has been heavily involved in assisting organisations bridge the gap between technology and the business, specifically focusing on cyber and the need to help organisations understand cyber risk in simple terms. Tommy assists organisations to develop, acquire and consume appropriate cyber capabilities commensurate with the nature of their business and cyber threats and risks facing them.

Over the years Tommy has been responsible for building many Deloitte tech and cyber businesses. He led the build of the banking solutions development team serving clients in Southern Africa. He helped grow the IT risk practices in South Africa and Australia and most importantly he established the Cyber Risk practice in Australia which is now one of the larger Deloitte Cyber practices globally and was recently called out as being one of the growth areas of the Australian Firm.
